Are you lacking the time or money to go to a gym? You’re not alone. Gym memberships are pricey, and if you have a hectic work schedule or little ones at home with you, sneaking away to the gym for a couple of hours isn’t always practical. I’ve been there. That’s why I love these fun at-home exercise programs.
At-Home Exercise Programs
Let me preface this by saying that I am a long way from my fitness goals. My husband isn’t… and he has a gym at work that he can use. Lucky! But as a busy mom who works at home and takes care of our son full time, going to the gym usually isn’t in the cards for me. So last year, after a few failed attempts at going to the gym daily (or even a couple times a week), I turned to programs I could do at home instead.
I lost 32 pounds last year by doing a couple of walking programs (like Leslie Sansone’s Walk Away the Pounds and Jessica Smith’s videos), and I did Zumba now and then when I got bored.
This year, I want to kick it up a notch and start with some strength training and more intense cardio. So, I’ve researched some programs and put together this list for us all. These are in no particular order, really. But if you’re just starting out on your fitness journey and have a lot of weight to lose (like me), I highly recommend the at-home walking programs. You can do them at any fitness level, and you can walk 1 mile, 2 miles or more each day until you build up your stamina. Great stuff!
